The game is an orthogonal-looking puzzle game where you have to control the root of a tree and solve riddles. The plot is centered on a wise tree that has been growing in its natural habitat for many years. It existed in harmony with the flora and fauna, fed by sunlight and minerals. But everything changed when man set foot on this land, and now a multi-storey building blocked the wise tree's access to sunlight, and its friends - trees, bushes, flowers - were rolled into asphalt. Now the indignant tree must strengthen its roots underground to survive. This is where our adventure through the roots of history begins - the first level represents the era of the Industrial Revolution, which for most people is already associated with the discovery of the external combustion engine that converts energy. Here the root needs to figure out how the steam engine works in order to get its own water, become stronger, and continue to go underground. The second level takes the root deeper and deeper into the Middle Ages, Vikings, stone mines and dungeons. The root of the hardening tree has to explore the mine and help the dwarves to show him the way to the water. In the third level we find ourselves in the prehistoric era of dinosaurs, primitive humans and deposits of fossils. To get enough water, the root has to fight with the dinosaur for the life-giving source, figuring out a way to survive. The denouement of the root's journey underground is the strengthening of the tree itself, which has grown into a mighty giant and defeated the building that prevents it from receiving sunlight. Now it stands firm on its roots and no obstacle can break it.

Игрой является головоломка с ортогональным видом, где нужно управлять корнем дерева и разгадывать загадки. Завязкой сюжета является мудрое дерево, которое на протяжении долгих лет росло в естественной среде обитания. Оно существовало в гармонии с флорой и фауной, питалось солнечным светом и полезными ископаемыми. Но все изменилось, когда человек ступил на эти земли, и вот мудрому дереву перекрыл доступ к солнечным лучам многоэтажный дом, а его друзей - деревья, кустики, цветочки - закатали в асфальт. Теперь негодующему дереву предстоит укрепить свои корни под землей, чтобы выжить. Здесь и начинается наше приключение по корням истории - первым уровень представляет собой эпоху индустриальной революции, которая уже для большинства ассоциируется с открытием двигателей внешнего сгорания, преобразующих энергию. Здесь корню необходимо разобраться с устройством работы паровой машины для того, чтобы добыть себе воду, стать сильнее и продолжить уходить под землю. Вторым уровнем мы погружаемся корнем все дальше и попадаем в эпоху средневековья, викингов, каменных шахт и подземелий. Корню крепчающего древа предстоит исследовать шахту и помочь дворфам, чтобы те показали ему путь к воде. На третьем уровне мы оказываемся в доисторической эпохи динозавров, первобытных людей и залежей окаменелостей. Чтобы напитаться водой, корню приходится сражаться за живительный источник с динозавром, придумывать себе путь для выживания. Развязкой путешествия корня под землей становится укрепление самого дерева, которое выросло в могучего великана и одолело здание, мешающее получать ему солнечные лучи. Теперь оно крепко стоит на своих корнях и никаким препятствиям его не сломить.
